Entries: Photo Challenge #97 – Hands

Description: Giga lives in Tbilisi, Georgia. He has a law degree, but he decided to hone (pun intended) his skills as a master blacksmith, making traditional Georgian knives, swords and daggers. He starts with raw nuggets of hardened steel, pounds the nuggets into the rough shape of the blade, and then progressively shapes, sharpens, polishes, and etches the blade. In the end, he mounts the blade onto handmade handles beautifully crafted out of wood, antlers, horns, or other materials.
